The Building FundAs the core program of the organization, The Building Fund provides funding for the capital and operating expenses of the schools served by the organization. The main goal of The Building Fund program is to expand and improve educational opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the following ways:
Scholarship ProgramA large portion of the students served by The Building Fund are orphaned and impoverished children who do not have the resources to go to school. Due the AIDS epidemic and extreme poverty many of these children do not have the emotional or financial support to go to school. Through the Scholarship Program, a minimum of 15 scholarships will be provided to each school served by The Building Fund in an effort to alleviate the gap in funding and resources faced by impoverished and orphaned students. Teachers teaching TeachersTeachers with proper and continuous training, who encourage active learning and participation from students, are crucial to the advancement of education. Each year at least one teacher will provide an in-service to each school that The Building Fund serves. The in-service will discus child development, review the basics of how a school environment supports children's growth and will work with teachers to further develop their teaching skills. |
