About TBF

Mission

The Building Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing children with access to education internationally.

Currently, The Building Fund is dedicated to supporting the capital and operating expenses of The Young Apostles International School of Ghana, West Africa. In its support of access to education, The Building Fund seeks to create and sustain opportunities at the schools it serves by funding the completion of buildings and classrooms, donating supplies to classrooms, teachers and students, providing scholarships for students, and engaging volunteers with the schools.

Values

The development and expansion of educational opportunities worldwide is crucial to the advancement of children. At a time when 115 million of the world's 680 million primary school age children do not attend school, The Building Fund values:

  • Funding that ensures and improves educational infrastructure, materials and personnel.
  • Expanding and improving educational opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
  • Healthy, stable and novel learning environments.
  • Teachers with proper and continuous training who encourage active learning and participation from students.
  • The exchange of students and adults to learn, teach and share in developing educational opportunities.

Goals

The Building Fund will create and sustain opportunities in education in the following ways:

  • Support the completion of each school served by donating $6,000 over a three year period.
  • Sustain the maintenance of each school served by donating $1,000 each year thereafter.
  • Provide a minimum of 15 full scholarships for students at each school served.
  • Engage volunteers in each school that is served.
